The Stories That Matter 2024
We are nearing the end of another year and as we look back and reflect we are immensely grateful for the way God has provided and worked in mighty ways. This is just a snapshot of the amazing ways God has impacted peoples lives, but we are excited to share with you stories of salvation, re-found hope and continued growth in faith journeys.
Back in 2015, I was fresh to faith and eager to learn more about God, so when the opportunity to go on the Youth Reachout trip came up, I jumped in. That first trip changed me, deeply and quietly, as the small experiences added up to a transformative whole. Fast forward nine years, and I found myself returning to Fiji on Youth Reachout, but this time as a leader. One of the most exciting moments on this trip was witnessing one of the boys I was mentoring give their life to God, telling me that “I truly gave my life to the Lord on the volleyball courts.”
In 2020 our internship program shifted into an intentional four year programme, designed to develop leaders that are passionate about God and the Gospel. Sarah is our 2nd intern ever to finish the fourth year, we interviewed her to hear about her experience, and how this has impacted her faith journey.
Our heart behind everything we do at Word of Life NZ is to ultimately see “every young person in our nation impacted by the Gospel through a friend” and our annual Leadership Conference is a way we can equip local church youth ministries with the tools to encourage this vision amongst their youth communities.
